It's true what everybody says: those first few weeks with your new baby really fly by, in a whirlwind of incredible moments, love and… nappy changes!

Booking a newborn photoshoot at my studio in Gerrards Cross allows you to freeze time, allowing you to hold onto the fleeting moments forever. The delicate yawns, tiny fingers, and sleepy expressions that grace this phase are evanescent.

When is the best time for a newborn photoshoot?

Before looking at when to book your baby in for a shoot, it might be helpful to understand when the best time is to take newborn photographs is.

I specialise in posed newborn photography, and for this style of photography, the ideal time is between 7 days and 3 weeks old.

During this stage, your newborn will be sleepier and more relaxed. This make them much easier to photograph, as they're less likely to be fussy. Newborns have unique poses and the natural ability to curl up into tiny little balls. This makes for some of the most adorable and creative photographs possible.

How does newborn photography shoots work?

Before your newborn photoshoot:

• I will discuss the different newborn photography styles with you and help you choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

• I will also ask about your favourite colours and advise you on what outfits will work best for your shoot.

• Finally, I will send you some tips on how to prepare for your shoot, such as feeding and preparing your baby beforehand and making sure they are comfortable and relaxed.

On the day of your newborn photography session:

• I will have some beautiful props and colour-matching setups ready for you, to help you create a beautiful gallery you’ll love forever

• The whole session will be baby-led, with be plenty of time for cuddles, breaks, and feeds, so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

• We can focus on baby only or include family portraits!

Prices and Packages

To secure your appointment in my studio, you can pay a £99 booking fee today. This will hold a space for your baby around 1-3 weeks after their due date.

Once your baby has arrived and we know that both mum and baby are safe, you will be asked to select a newborn package that suits you and your family.

Here is a more detailed breakdown of what the £99 booking fee includes:

• A 30-minute pre-session consultation to discuss your photography preferences and to answer any questions you may have.

• Full use of my props, including blankets, wraps, hats, and baskets.

• The preparation of your image gallery, which will include photographs that best reflect the day which you can choose from.

Explore below the different baby packages offered for newborn photoshoots.

All newborn photoshoot packages include:

• Photographs of your baby alone

• Family photographs (mum, dad and baby)

• Mother and baby photographs

• Father and baby photographs

Newborn photography packages include the use of all my baby props and blankets, no additional props are required unless you have a special prop you would like to include for your baby.

I have over 19 years of retouching experience and will make sure each image is perfect and natural looking. All purchased images will be retouched to high standard and given to you in high resolution on a USB in both colour and black & white.

Newborn photoshoot packages include parents and newborn only. If you have children you would like to include into your baby photoshoot, please add a sibling hour so that we can give your child the time and space to get comfortable. This will ensure we get the best sibling photos for your family.

*All baby photoshoots take place from 11:00am on a Wednesday and Friday in my home studio in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire unless a home photography session is booked.

After your newborn photoshoot, I know how excited you will be to see your images so during each newborn shoot, I will take a few shorts videos and create you a sneak peak on my instagram account. Don’t forget to follow me so that I can tag you in your video which you are then welcome to share with your friends and family.
