Where will my child’s photographs be taken?

Your child’s portfolio will take place in my private home studio in Gerrards Cross using studio lighting.

Can children of all ages in Buckinghamshire do this classic Children portfolio shoot?

The style for this particular portfolio shoot is classic and will consist mostly of headshots. I will be posing your child into different poses while standing and sitting. This session is a faster pace sesson so your child would need to be old enough to follow instructions. I would recommend this for children age 10 upwards. For younger children, I would suggest booking a photography shoot on location where they can run around and be captured naturally or you can consider a headshot session for casting or agency work which will give your child more time in the studio,

What should my child wear to their children photoshoot in Buckinghamshire?

When selecting what to wear, the goal is to choose clothes for your child that compliments them with the focus being their headshot. Avoid prints, logos and patterns that distract the eye and take the emphasis away from your child. You want the clothes you choose for your child’s portfolio to flatter them. For young children, their headshot should reflect them as a child. Necklines on clothing should be age appropriate. Keeping necklines on clothing within the collarbone area can provide a classic look; avoid dress up costumes. You are welcome to bring a hat of scarf for a few but for this style, the classic look is better and won’t date in years to come. I would suggest 3 outfits for this shoot.

Makeup and hair

A child’s headshot will look best when they look themselves. Makeup should be avoided for children’s headshots, especially for young children. If your child wears makeup regularly, apply a small amount which looks natural.

For hairstyling, start with your child’s hair recently washed and looking natural. During your session, we can style their hair differently by using a wind machine to add gentle movement or tie their hair up to create a different look.
