Maternity Photography within your home - London and Buckinghamshire

The journey of pregnancy and growing a baby bump is an unforgettable experience and a time filled with so many emotions. Book your maternity photoshoot within your home to document this chapter.

As every woman’s transition to motherhood is unique, I will ensure that these precious moments are captured as a beautiful artwork in a way that is authentic to you. Your flawless baby bump will be photographed in the most flattering and elegant way using a style which is simple and natural. Together we will produce timeless images you can hold close to your heart and remember forever.

Professional lights will be set up within your London or Buckinghamshire home for your pregnancy photoshoot creating a warm and natural look. I will photograph in an organic style using the walls in your home, your sofa, your bed or within your baby’s new nursery. This will tell a story of your unique journey, the excitement of becoming a parent while keeping the focus on your baby at all times. It is important to me that your child can look upon these pregnancy photographs in the future and see the excitement and love in your eyes. It is the most magical chapter you are about to have and I am here to document it for you.

If you have the extra space, I can set up a small black backdrop where we can create a few artistic images and black and white pregnancy nudes showcasing your transformed pregnant body. These are particularly loved by my mummies as this maternity style shows just how beautiful you are and helps give you the confidence you deserve. These special memories are for you to keep in your private maternity collection; a small reminder of the artistic beauty a bump can create. Before your pregnancy photoshoot, we will have a telephone conversation where we can discuss details and what you feel comfortable with and your expectations. I love collaborating ideas as each family is unique.

When to book your pregnancy session

I would thoroughly suggest booking your maternity session as soon as you know you are pregnant. This helps me to secure you a date in your third trimester.

An excellent time to take photos is in the third trimester between 28 and 34 weeks (depending how you look and feel). By this time, your baby bump will visible and look amazing in photographs. And, in this time you’ll still be capable of moving around and pose at ease. Whilst you can do your session afterwards, there’s a possibility you’ll have more difficulty standing and posing for a long period of time.

Can my children join in?

Yes! This is a special time for the whole family so I welcome children and pets to document this special time.

Pamper yourself

Your hands and hair are going to appear in most of your images so this is an ideal reason to pamper yourself by going to the hair salon before your photoshoot and getting a specialized manicure

Should my hair be up or down?

Since we will be shooting within your home, you have the luxury of restyling your hair. I would suggest starting with your hair styled down and then you put it up for a few shots to add to the variety. The most import aspect is feeling your best so if waves make you feel your best-go for it!

What should I wear to my pregnancy shoot?

At-home maternity sessions are cozy, intimate and capture the essence of your personality, style and relationship. When you are in your home environment, you are your most relaxed and true self. Your choice of clothing can also be quite relaxed and comfortable for the fun, quirky images with you and your partner.

Some suggestions would be:

  • soft coloured casual wear.

  • You can also wear some sexy lingerie with a open shirt, this can be fun for a few with your partner and you can also use this boudoir style for your individual images.

  • A beautiful dressing gown over your lingerie creates soft, feminine shots of your bump.

  • A dress that will give you the most flattering silhouette for your maternity photos. The best is a dress/top that is tight up top, meaning that it is tight to just above the belly with a flowy skirt that allows lots of movement. I think it looks more flattering and it also gives you something to play with/swish around.

  • Length should be to the floor. Not too much longer than that because you don’t want to trip on it. And it’s okay if it’s slightly shorter if you want to show off your shoes. But typically a floor length dress is most flattering.

    What colours work best?

Light to medium colours look best or a soft pattern. Definitely light colours if we use a black background.

    Avoid Matching Your Partner/Family

When deciding what your partner will wear, you want to coordinate but not match. If your colors are the same, you will blend into each other and it will be hard to see the separation. Same goes for anyone in your family, we don’t want anyone blending into each other. You can search Pinterest for complimentary colors or to get ideas.
